U.S. Attorney Michael Garcia presents: Judicial Clerkships: The springboard to your career!

On Monday, August 18, 2008 at 1:00 pm in the Career Center, Michael Garcia ’89, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, discussed how a judicial clerkship can change the course of your law career.
In addition to his work at the US Attorney’s Office, Mr. Garcia has:
- Served as Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Enforcement.
- Served as Acting Commissioner of the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) where he led the transition of that agency into the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Where did it all begin?
... As a Judicial Clerk for Chief Judge Judith Kaye at the New York State Court of Appeals.

I participated in a clerkship very similar to this when I was younger and it taught me a great deal. I'd recommend everyone do something like this if they have the opportunity.
